Indian Team Arrives In Australia

Melbourne, Dec 14: The remaining members of the Indian cricket team, led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, today arrived in Australia for the gruelling Test series starting later this month. The players, including Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Zaheer Khan and coach Duncan Fletcher left Chennai for Australia yesterday. As soon as they landed in Melbourne, the team left for Canberra on a bus. India are scheduled to play two warm-up matches against Cricket Australia Chairman’s XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra— first on December 15-16 and the second a three-day game from December 19 to 21. “Different vibe in Australia. Lovin it though! Off to Canberra 3 hour drive. Not good after 13 hours of travelling,” tweeted Kohli. Ghana flying the African pride high

For the second consecutive major tournament, after the CAF Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, Ghana have exceeded expectations, and they now stand on the brink of making African football history. The Black Stars, playing in just their second FIFA World Cup ™ after Germany 2006, are a win over Uruguay away from becoming the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the tournament. In January they went to the final of the continental championship despite using a team largely built around players from last year's FIFA U-20 World Cup winning squad after a devastating run of injuries cost them half of the regular team. Sania's Family Confirms She Will Stay At Games' Village

New Delhi, Sep 28: The family of the Indian tennis star Sania Mirza today dismissed as rumours the b uzz that she may not stay at the Commonwealth Games Village here. While the international stars have started coming to Games Village, the latest buzz at the sprawling athletes' facility was that Indian tennis stars Sania and Mahesh Bhupathi may not stay there. It was said that Sania may prefer staying with husband Shoaib Malik -- a former Pakistan cricket captain -- and Bhupathi may stay with fiance Lara Dutta, a Bollywood actress. When contacted, Sania's father Imran said she will surely stay at the Games Village. "She will check in to the Village with the rest of the team," Imran told PTI. Sania had recently come here along with Malik. Bhupathi could not be reached for comment. Tennis will make its debut in this edition of the Commonwealth Games, sheduled to begin on October 3. PTI
